URBAN GODS
Urban Gods is an experimental, alternative pop band from Fife, Scotland. The trio have played together in other groups such as Little Buddha and The Paranoid Monkeys.
Robert Davidson, Fergus Black and Ian Anderson combine a variety of conventional instruments including guitars and drums, synths and piano and fused with an electronic aspect to create the music they would ultimately describe as “Edgy-Pop”.
Robert (vocals and guitar) is the main songwriter drawing on influences such as Dylan, Lennon and Yorke. He writes of broken homes, despair, love, sex and the apocalypse, all set against jaunty guitar riffs, beautiful delicate pianos, grandiose eerie soundscapes and, often, all out bluesy rock and roll.
Fergus (bass and keys) writes and arranges. He also records and produces the bands material.
Ian (drums and percussion) provides his unique rythmical backdrop for the band.
There are vast inspirations among the group ranging from Radiohead to Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd, Mike Patton, Elliot Smith, Velvet Underground.. all relaying in their musical output.
